Caio Borralho has his eyes set on a showdown with Nassourdine Imavov after UFC Fight Night 250. Imavov (16-4 MMA, 8-2 UFC) made a huge statement by knocking out former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya (24-5 MMA, 13-5 UFC) in the main event at ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Following his victory, Imavov called for a title shot. But Borralho, who is on an impressive winning streak, believes he should be next in line to fight him.

“I think Imavov can be a great fight, but I think (Robert) Whittaker can be a great fight too,” Borralho told Submission Radio. “So whoever the UFC decides, I’m ready.”

“I Thought Adesanya Would Win” – Caio Borralho Breaks Down UFC 250 KO

Caio Borralho (17-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC) is coming off a dominant five-round victory over Jared Cannonier in August. He thinks his pace and pressure would be too much for Imavov, especially in a longer fight.

“If it’s a five-round fight, I think he might get tired with my pace and my rhythm,” Borralho said. “I need to be careful with his right hand because he’s fast, and in this sport, speed and timing beat everything. But I think if we go past three rounds, I can push him harder and maybe get the finish – but for sure get the victory.”

Borralho also admitted he thought Adesanya would beat Imavov. He believes Adesanya’s mistake was switching stances too close to Imavov, which left him open to being hit.

“It’s hard to see a guy like Adesanya lose like that,” Borralho said. “But I think he made the wrong choice switching stances too close to Imavov. When you do that, you need space to adjust, and Imavov didn’t give him that. He got clipped, and that was it.”

Now, Borralho is ready to step up and take on Imavov next. Whether the UFC makes it happen remains to be seen, but the middleweight division just got a lot more interesting.
