The UFC 312 weigh-ins have concluded, and fight fans can breathe easy as the highly anticipated middleweight title rematch between Dricus du Plessis and Sean Strickland is officially set. Both fighters successfully hit the championship mark of 185 pounds, setting the stage for a fiery showdown.
Du Plessis, who edged out Strickland via split decision in their first encounter last year, will look to solidify his reign. Meanwhile, Strickland aims to reclaim the belt he lost and reassert himself atop the division.
In the co-main event, reigning UFC women’s strawweight champion Zhang Weili and challenger Tatiana Suarez also made weight without issue. Weili, known for her relentless pace and power, came in at the 115-pound limit, while Suarez tipped the scales slightly under at 114.5 pounds.
One Fight Removed from the Card
While the majority of fighters successfully made weight, the scheduled flyweight bout between HyunSung Park and Nyamjargal Tumendemberel was pulled from the card just before the weigh-ins began. Reports suggest that Tumendemberel struggled with his weight cut and never made it to the scale.
Despite the last-minute cancellation, all remaining 12 fights will proceed as planned.
