Retired boxing star Amir Khan has finally addressed the speculation surrounding a potential showdown with YouTube sensation-turned-boxer KSI. While the rumors have circulated for over a year, the former world champion insists that no official talks have taken place. However, Khan has made one thing clear—if KSI wants the fight, he’ll have to pay up.
Amir Khan Demands £10 Million to Step in the Ring
Amir Khan, who hasn’t fought since his 2022 knockout loss to Kell Brook, revealed he would only consider a return for a massive payday. Speaking in a recent interview with Betway, the 37-year-old boxer stated he would demand a £10 million ($12.5 million) purse to entertain the idea of facing KSI.
“They keep mentioning my name and calling me out, but I’ve never spoken to KSI or anyone from his team,” Khan said. “If they want to negotiate with me, I’ll speak to them and send it to my lawyer—then we’ll start negotiations. I manage everything myself. A fight like that? I’m not getting cut short with PPV numbers.”
The former champion also revealed that he previously had discussions with Jake Paul, but the bout never materialized. Despite being retired, Khan is open to stepping back into the ring if the offer is too good to refuse.
Will KSI Take the Challenge?
KSI, who is set to return to action against Dillon Danis at Misfits 21 in March, has been linked to several big fights, including potential bouts with Tommy Fury and Jake Paul. A clash with Khan would be a significant step up in competition, given the Brit’s championship pedigree.
For now, the ball is in KSI’s court. If he’s willing to meet Khan’s financial demands, the boxing world could see another high-profile crossover fight later this year.
