Who Will Michael Page Fight Next? Fresh off his latest victory, Michael “Venom” Page is ready to make another statement in the UFC welterweight division. The British striking sensation has called out two of the division’s biggest names—Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman—as his ideal next opponents. After proving his skills with a dominant win over Shara Magomedov in February, MVP is eager to return to action against one of the sport’s most established veterans.

Page’s transition to the UFC has been an exciting one. After making a name for himself in Bellator with his flashy and unpredictable striking, many wondered how he would fare against the UFC’s elite. So far, he has shown that his unorthodox style and pinpoint accuracy translate well to the Octagon. Now, he wants to prove he belongs among the best by taking on two of the most well-known fighters in the division.

Why Usman or Covington? Page Explains His Choices

During a UFC fan Q&A in London, Page made it clear that he wants a high-profile fight that will solidify his status in the division. When asked about his next move, the 37-year-old didn’t hold back:

I haven’t a clue (what’s next), but everyone seems silent at the moment. I don’t know if that last fight has worried a few people, but everyone seems a bit silent. There’s many names out there. […] I think me and Usman would be a good fight. I want to punch Colby in his face for some reason. I don’t know why. There’s guys out there. I’m just waiting for them to respond to the call.

Page’s interest in Kamaru Usman comes as no surprise. The former UFC welterweight champion is on a three-fight skid, but he remains one of the most dominant fighters in UFC history. A win over Usman would be a massive statement for MVP and could catapult him into title contention. Usman has hinted at a comeback, making this matchup a realistic possibility if the UFC brass sees the value in it.

As for Covington, Page’s desire to fight him seems more personal. Known for his brash personality and relentless wrestling style, Covington has made plenty of enemies in the sport. MVP referenced his infamous flying knee knockout of Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos in Bellator, hoping to replicate the finish against Covington.

I’m hoping for a repeat of a jumping knee to the face. […] You all saw how that went, so I’m hoping that way.

Covington, despite being a polarizing figure, is still one of the toughest competitors in the division. His relentless pressure, cardio, and wrestling-heavy style could provide an interesting clash with Page’s elusive striking. If this fight materializes, it would undoubtedly be one of the most anticipated welterweight bouts of the year.

The Road Ahead: Page’s Plans for 2025

Michael Page isn’t just looking for a big-name fight—he wants to stay as active as possible this year. With the UFC hosting multiple events throughout 2025, he has his eyes on a busy schedule.

If I can get two more fights in (this year) that would be great. […] I’m trying to get one as soon as possible. There’s shows in May that I want to be on, and again at the end of the year. So two more fights, definitely.

At 37 years old, MVP knows that time is of the essence. While his unorthodox striking and electric performances have already made him a fan favorite, securing a fight with either Usman or Covington would cement his status as a legitimate title contender. With the welterweight division stacked with talent, a win over one of these names could put him within striking distance of a championship opportunity.

Beyond Covington and Usman, the UFC’s welterweight division remains one of the most competitive in the sport. Fighters like Shavkat Rakhmonov, Belal Muhammad, and Gilbert Burns all pose serious threats to anyone aiming for a title shot. Page’s success against top-tier competition will be crucial if he hopes to climb the rankings and earn a championship opportunity.

One potential challenge for Page is his ability to handle elite wrestlers. While his striking is world-class, past fights have shown that grappling-heavy opponents can pose problems. Facing Covington, a dominant wrestler, would provide a definitive answer to whether Page’s takedown defense has evolved enough to compete with the best.

The UFC matchmakers now have an intriguing decision to make. Page’s callouts have stirred excitement among fans, and both Usman and Covington remain big draws despite recent setbacks. If either fight is booked, it will undoubtedly be a major event.

For now, all eyes are on the UFC matchmakers. Will they grant Page his wish and set up a showdown with one of the sport’s biggest stars? Fans won’t have to wait long to find out.
