Anthony Hernandez Forces a Breakthrough with Submission Win Over Roman Dolidze

In the headlining event of UFC Fight Night: Dolidze vs. Hernandez, middleweight contender Anthony Hernandez performed a career-defining performance, finishing Roman Dolidze by rear-naked choke in the fourth round. The win not only extended Hernandez’s streak but also validates his standing as a serious threat in the UFC’s 185-pound division.

From start to finish, Hernandez directed the pace. He smothered Dolidze with consistent pressure, takedowns, and positional control. While Dolidze showed toughness, he couldn’t keep up with Hernandez’s cardio and chain grappling. By Round 4, the end felt certain as Hernandez secured the back and made Dolidze tap out.

What This Win Means for Anthony Hernandez

Hernandez currently has an eight-fight winning run with this submission victory. He is now solidly in the top tier of the middleweight class. He has proved over and over that his grappling-heavy style can break opponents who can’t keep up with his speed or pressure.

There are more and more calls for a championship eliminator, and Hernandez may soon have to fight the likes of Robert Whittaker, or perhaps even Caio Borralho. No matter who he fights, Hernandez is now in the mix for the 185-pound title, he just needs to get a few more dominant wins under his belt.

UFC Builds Momentum Toward UFC 319

UFC 319 is next on the schedule. It will take place on August 16 in Chicago and will feature a huge middleweight title fight between Dricus du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev, who is still undefeated. Aaron Pico makes his long-awaited UFC debut against Lerone Murphy, a rising featherweight, in the co-main event. This fight could change the 145-pound division right away. UFC 319 is building up to be one of the most important shows of the year. Other important fights include Jared Cannonier vs. Michael “Venom” Page, Jessica Andrade vs. Loopy Godinez, and more.
