The establishment of the MMA Performance Center in France is set to mark an important development in the European MMA landscape. Designed to provide a world-class training environment for fighters of all levels, the facility is a significant investment in the future of MMA in France and throughout Europe.
A Purpose-Built Facility for High-Level Training
The MMA Performance Center, led by the respected French MMA coach Nicolas Ott, will provide a comprehensive infrastructure specifically designed for combat sports. The facility will have a full-size UFC-standard octagon, a dedicated physical conditioning unit, a recovery and rehabilitation area, and a 360-square-meter tatami room with wall supports to optimize cage-based training.
In addition to physical infrastructure, the center will use modern technology to improve performance. Cameras will be deployed throughout the training areas to collect sparring data, allowing coaches and players to undertake detailed performance analyses. Tatami mats will be maintained using automated cleaning technologies to ensure consistent hygiene and safety.
Instruction From Elite Coaches
The training programs at the MMA Performance Center will be delivered by a team of specialists across multiple combat disciplines. Alongside Nicolas Ott, several experienced instructors are expected to join the coaching staff, including: Luis Mariano, Rodrigo Alamos, Reda Mebtouche and Maxime François, among others.
This multi-disciplinary team will provide technical education and strategic insight across all major components of MMA, supporting both the physical and tactical development of athletes.
Programs for All Levels
One of the main objectives of the MMA Performance Center is accessibility. The facility is intended to help professional athletes, but it will also provide structured activities for amateurs, teenagers, and children. Each course will be monitored by experts in physical preparation, sport psychology, and injury prevention to ensure that every participant has a safe and productive training experience.

A Strategic Investment in European MMA
The MMA Performance Center’s long-term goal is to establish itself as a hub for high-performance training in Europe. By providing a year-round training facility for European and international competitors, the center aims to boost the continent’s prominence in global MMA competition.
In addition, the project aims to find and develop young talent. The purpose is to train a new generation of French and European fighters who can compete at the top levels. This combined focus on elite performance and talent development establishes the MMA Performance Center as an innovative organization in the global combat sports ecosystem.
Nicolas Ott also explained what makes this new facility better than the one in Rungis:
“I didn’t have all of this at the Venum Training Camp. I already had part of it there. It’s a very nice gym. But we didn’t have the recovery unit. We have the preparation unit. We have the cage. We have a better mat, ours will be 360 square meters. It’s huge. It’s almost twice the size of the one at Venum. The cameras are super important. They’ll be all over the mat to record everything. The wall mounts make a big difference. There will be mounts all along the wall. That allows us to work on wrestling against the cage. When you go abroad, you have two or three classes per week focused on that. But working against the cage really hurts your back. It causes burns and injuries.”
Looking Ahead
As France expands its presence in the world of MMA, the development of the MMA Performance Center will represent a significant step forward. Under Nicolas Ott’s guidance and with the backing of a team of experienced professionals, the center is prepared to become a focus for excellence in training, innovation and athlete development.
Coming Up
At UFC Paris on Saturday, September 6, 2025, several top athletes from Nicolas Ott’s team will step into the Octagon for crucial battles. In the main event, middleweight contender Nassourdine Imavov is set to face Caio Borralho. In the co-main event, France’s own Benoît Saint-Denis will face rising Brazilian talent Mauricio Ruffy in what promises to be a high-paced, action-packed clash. Known for his relentless pressure and durability, Saint-Denis will be looking to make a statement in front of his home crowd, while Ruffy aims to spoil the party and climb the lightweight ranks with a big win.
