Magomed Zaynukov showed why he’s one of the most dangerous prospects coming out of the Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov School, putting on a masterclass of volume, pressure, and power in a unanimous decision win over Lucas Caldas at Dana White’s Contender Series: Season 9, Week 9.

All three judges scored it 30-26 for Zaynukov, who improved to 8-0 with a record-setting performance that saw him land the most significant strikes ever in a DWCS lightweight fight.

Round 1: Chaos From the Start

The bout opened at a blistering pace. Caldas attacked Zaynukov’s legs early, but the Russian answered with sharp right hands and punishing body shots. Zaynukov’s counter game looked sharp, mixing kicks and punches fluidly.

Midway through the round, Caldas dropped Zaynukov with a punch, but the Dagestani prospect recovered instantly, firing back with even heavier shots. The exchanges were relentless, and by the end of the frame, Zaynukov had regained control with cleaner, heavier strikes.
Score: 10-9 Zaynukov.

Round 2: Dagestani Precision

Zaynukov came out strong in the second, landing crisp kicks to the body and following up with piston-like jabs. Caldas tried to change momentum with elbows in close, but Zaynukov countered beautifully, catching a kick and sweeping Caldas to the mat with a slick trip.

Though Caldas got back to his feet quickly, Zaynukov continued to dictate the pace. After a brief eye poke pause, Zaynukov unleashed precise combinations to the head and body, consistently beating Caldas to the punch.
Score: 10-9 Zaynukov.

Round 3: Breaking Records

By the final round, the broadcast team announced a new DWCS lightweight striking record, and the two fighters still refused to slow down. Zaynukov’s combinations landed clean, punctuated by a huge head kick that stunned Caldas.

Another accidental eye poke cost Caldas a point, and Zaynukov capitalized immediately, dropping him with a vicious flurry. Caldas showed incredible toughness to stay in the fight, trading until the final horn, but it was all Zaynukov in the end.
Score: 10-8 Zaynukov (after point deduction).
