UFC is getting closer to bringing a major event to Georgia, and Dana White is all for it. The UFC president confirmed in an interview with TNT Sports that the promotion has been in talks with Georgian officials about hosting an event there, calling Georgia “the most logical choice right now.” His comments have quickly turned what was once just an idea into one of the most talked-about possibilities in MMA.

Dana White Confirms Ongoing Talks

Dana White has also previously shared that he recently met with representatives from Georgia who are eager to host a UFC card. He said, “I met with people who want the event to take place in Georgia. Where does it make the most sense to hold UFC right now? Of course, in Georgia. There is huge interest.”

White added that UFC’s mission has always been to take the sport to new corners of the world. “I was just in another room with the sports minister of Georgia, and we’ve never been there before,” he explained. His words suggest that Georgia isn’t just on the radar, it’s becoming a serious candidate for the next big international UFC event.

Why Georgia Could Be the Perfect Fit

It’s not hard to see why UFC is looking toward Georgia. The country has become one of the most exciting new hubs for combat sports, producing world-class athletes like Merab Dvalishvili, the current UFC Bantamweight Champion, and the Lightweight Champion Ilia Topuria. Hosting a UFC Fight Night in Tbilisi or another Georgian city would celebrate that homegrown talent and give MMA in the region a major spotlight.

Georgia’s government has already expressed its full support. After a recent meeting, the country’s Sports Minister reportedly told White that Georgia is “a nation of champions ready to host UFC.” With new arenas, improved infrastructure, and a growing MMA culture, the timing seems perfect for the promotion to make its debut there.

UFC’s Push for Global Expansion

Dana White has made it clear that UFC’s goal is to keep growing beyond its traditional markets. In recent years, the organization has successfully staged events in new regions such as Abu Dhabi, Singapore, and Mexico. Georgia could be next.

White’s excitement about the country shows how much potential he sees there, both commercially and culturally. An event in Georgia would be a milestone moment, especially for Dvalishvili, who has carried the Georgian flag proudly on the world stage. A homecoming fight would not only be historic for him but also deeply symbolic for the nation.

What Comes Next for UFC Georgia

Right now, the project is still in the works. Venue selection, logistics, and fighter line-ups all need to be ironed out before anything becomes official. Still, with Dana White confirming active discussions and strong government support, the idea of UFC Georgia feels closer than ever.

If it happens, the event would mark a huge moment for both UFC and MMA in Georgia, bringing the sport’s biggest stage to a country that has already given it some of its toughest, most respected fighters.
